DS-Labs is an informal collective with no legal personality of its own: it cannot enter contracts or be legally bound in its own name. The ds-labs.org website and the activities carried out for the project are operated by Deepthought Solutions (a French SAS), which bears the legal responsibility for them (see the legal notice).

Purpose of the collective
- Offer a turnkey, sovereign SaaS (mail, collaboration, ERP) to the collective's clients, with personalized support. The goal is to provide tools that help collectives organize themselves.
- Host an archive of the open-source tools in use, and promote their integration and development.
Members contribute to the effort of hosting the infrastructure ds-labs.org needs.
